Mission of the Organization
The health care system is one the most popular and impactful public service organizations
(PSO). The mission of the organization is to provide standard and equitable care to all patients.
The identity of this organization is aligned by being able to serve the patients meet their needs in
a timely manner, and provide optimum experience in care services.
Clients of the Organization
The primary clients of healthcare systems are the patient, as most of the features are
focused on providing quality healthcare experiences. However, the health care system is a multi-
stakeholder system comprised of various customers and clients who expect their needs to be
served. These stakeholders, such as insurance companies, healthcare providers, and
administrators, all work together to establish a customer-centric environment that focuses on
delivering quality healthcare services.
Products and services
Often, the healthcare system is viewed as a service industry because it involves serving the
patient population to meet their healthcare needs and demands. Some of the services provided
include preventive care, health promotion and patient education, and treatment services.
However, there are various products of the healthcare system, including medication and health
technological devices, that either improve health or serve a preventive purpose.
Leaders and key decision-makers
The healthcare system has an integrated structure when it comes to decision-making.
Leaders within this organization interact to manage operations and provide care to patients.
Some of the key decision-makers and leaders in health care include the board of directors,
senior-level managers, middle managers, frontline managers, nurses, and doctors (Heinen et al.,
3
2019). These leaders make clinical decisions and also play administrative roles that deal with
strategic planning, resource, and budget allocation.
Exposure to the organization
I have been exposed to the healthcare system both as a client and a staff. The experience is
different because, as a member of the healthcare staff, I have a duty and obligation to the patients
and to the organization. The level of accountability is tied to the quality of services delivered and
professionalism. As a patient, I am on the receiving end of care, and I get to experience the
effectiveness of the existing policies and competence level of the health care providers.
Organization funding
Financing in the health care system from revenue-raising schemes such as external aid,
direct out-of-pocket payment from clients, voluntary prepaid or compulsory insurance schemes,
and government budgets. Other sources of funding include purchasing services and pooling of
funds. Financing in healthcare systems facilitates universal health coverage, which enables the
quality of services.
Highlights
Some of the awards given in the healthcare system include the care excellence award,
optimal operations award, community champions award, in safe hands, and living the mission
and vision award. Healthcare systems receive recognition for meeting and improving the health
needs of the community and providing high-quality care. News coverage provides trends in
health care and also includes details relating to universal coverage or problems affecting the
health care system.
Things that stuck out about the organizational leadership
4
One of the things about leadership in the health care system is the involvement of macro-
level decision-makers in policy making. I am impressed by the interactive nature of leadership in
healthcare organizations, where many actors play major roles in policy evaluation,
implementation, development, selection, and initiation (Heinen et al., 2019). Another thing that
struck me the most was the accountability of the leaders. The strategies to synchronize efforts by
leaders to achieve a common goal also make leadership in healthcare organizations unique.
Whether it is an effective PSO
The health care system is an effective public service organization and is among the
essential organizations. The organizations have strong governance from the government and
leaders within the industry, which ensures that the services provided are efficient, integrated,
equitable, timely, people-centered, and effective (Heinen et al., 2019). The organization serves an
important role in meeting the needs of the community and ensuring accessibility to all.
Organization Critique
However, the healthcare system is not without challenges. One of the problems in this
organization is the financial burden and high cost without high quality (Baumann & Cabassa,
2020). Over the years, there has been an increase in healthcare spending; but there are low scores
in health measures such as maternal mortality rate, suicide, preventable hospital admission, and
life expectancy. The financial burden of disease, along with the number of uninsured and
underinsured, means that people are left bankrupt when they suffer from chronic or serious
illnesses (Baumann & Cabassa, 2020). Another problem is healthcare disparities, fragmented
care, shortage of nursing staff, and incidences of medication errors.
5
Conclusion
I consider the health care system as one of the backbone organizations in public service
systems. However, despite its effectiveness and relevance to the community, it is faced with
multiple challenges that can sometimes hinder the quality of care. As such, the key decision-
makers and leaders are constantly looking for ways to revisit policies and introduce measures
that correspond to the changing needs of the modern community. Effective management of the
staff population contributes to improved patient experience and facilities delivery of safe, timely,
and efficient care.
GRADE FROM PROFESSOR:
Patricia,
Unfortunately, you did not meet the expectations for this assignment. Your assignment was too
broad. You failed to discuss an actual organization. You discussed the healthcare system, instead
of selecting one healthcare organization that you are familiar with. Does this make sense? Also,
you did not cite properly. Be sure to work on APA citations. Also, be sure to incorporate material
from our assigned course textbook. Also, be sure to work on proofreading your work prior to
final submission for errors. Overall, it is a pleasure to work with you this semester. Stay
motivated and keep pushing!

4. ESSAY QUESTION:
FBI: Virtual Case File Project
The case study at hand provides a picture how a project can go from bad to very bad. The case study of the project’s failures is obviously an abstract of a far greater investigation into the
causes to deliver an automated case management system. The project was rife with problems from it initiation to termination. This problem could have been avoided by careful planning.
The project development, the use of antiquated hardware and software, the failed partnership with the software contractor and stakeholders contributed to the failure. The idea that the FBI could go it alone with a system that was linked to a trilogy platform was a poor decision. The
lack of resources other than antiquated equipment became an issue especially in light of the
Bureau’s request to have the contractor fix the problem and the contractors’ fee for doing so.
The study reflects many of the concepts and good project management practices stated in the assignment. Could the missteps been avoided and the system been delivered? Identify and
comment on at three measures from the current readings that the FBI had failed to recognize in the development of the project.
