The scholarly paper is to be written in current and “immaculate” APA format and should be at least 10pages in length (OF TEXT!!) double spaced. Poor grammar, style and punctuation will affect the grade of the paper significantly. There should be a cover page, an abstract, and at least 6 appropriate references. Please consult the current APA manual and/or SAGU’s writing center for assistance. Topic “Dual Diagnosis” pertaining to “addictive behavior and recovery”. The purpose for this paper is to develop a formal writing assignment that is well-written, researched, and thought through. The nature of the paper is a literature review essentially;however, I do expect you to interact with your findings at the conclusion and how your findings will impact your counseling practice in the future.

Under each system list all psychotropic medications that are used to treat that system and all the receptors or sub types that are used by that medication. 3. Recommend one FDA-approved drug, one off-label drug, and one nonpharmacological intervention for treating your assigned disorder in children and adolescents.
Explain the risk assessment you would use to inform your treatment decision making. What are the risks and benefits of the FDA-approved medicine? What are the risks and benefits of the off-label drug?
Explain whether clinical practice guidelines exist for this disorder and, if so, use them to justify your recommendations. If not, explain what information you would need to take into consideration.
Support your reasoning with at least three scholarly resources, one each on the FDA-approved drug, the off-label, and a non-medication intervention for the disorder. Attach the PDFs of your sources.

The purpose of this reflective journal is self-reflection regarding the role in the process of self-reflection as a PMHNP provider. Through reflective practice, the student will evaluate their own emotional health and recognize one’s own feelings as well as one’s ability to monitor and manage those feelings. The point of the exercise is to learn yourself, your triggers, the types of cases you end up getting overly involved with, and those you’d rather refer to someone else.
