Create 3D models and detailed part/assembly drawings for a fixture used to machine the Guide Base. Use the 3D model of the Guide Base created in Week 1 for your
design.
Incorporate purchased parts (clamps, bushings, rest pads, etc.) whenever possible in the fixture design. Detailed drawings for purchased parts are not required but vendor
and part number information must be included in the BOM on the assembly drawing.
Create a PowerPoint presentation that details the use of the fixture and the machining operations completed in each part set up.
Submission of the assignment must include: 1. Detailed part and assembly drawings in PDF format, 2. PowerPoint Presentation that details use of the f ixture .
This project is worth 100 points total. Points value breakdown is as follows: 1. Design and Function of Fixture – 50 points 2. PowerPoint Presentation – 20 points 3. Detailed Part and Assembly Drawings – 30
points
Fixture to be design to be clamped into the vise jaws of a vertical mill. Vise has a max opening of 10 inches.
