The final paper should follow the rubric (see appendix) include references from either the syllabus, related research publications, or your peers’ insights. It is likely that your peers’ group presentations may provide more food for thought. Given this, the final paper (10-15 pages, or 3,000 – 7,500 words) is due online by May 23, 2020 at 11:59pm.
This assignment is also the signature assignment for the SJSU GE area S. As such, there are four General Education Learning Outcomes (GELO) areas that must be discussed within these (written) 10-15 pages (3,000 – 7,500 words):
Describe how are identities (i.e. religious, gender, ethnic, racial, class, sexual orientation, disability, and/or age) are shaped by cultural and societal influences within contexts of equality and inequality;
Describe how historical, social, political, and economic processes producing diversity, equality, and structured inequalities in the U.S.;
Describe social actions which have led to greater equality and social justice in the U.S. (i.e. religious, gender, ethnic, racial, class, sexual orientation, disability, and/or age).; and
Describe constructive interactions between people from different cultural, racial, and ethnic groups within the U.S.
