In this short, written assignment, you are asked to analyze and solve one HRM-related challenge that you (or someone close to you, a colleague, a friend, etc.) have encountered on ONE of the HR-topics (work design, recruitment, selection, performance management, compensation, diversity management, or other relevant HRM practices).
First, you provide a 2-page analysis of the HRM-related problem (e.g., lack of applicants from minority groups, low satisfaction with promotion process and decisions, high turnover, lack of creativity in team, etc.). In doing so, you need to analyze the problem from different angles (i.e., different stakeholders such as potential applicants, employees, line managers, HR managers, executives) using data (e.g., quotes, graphs, etc.). Your problem analysis should end with a problem statement that integrates the sub-problems the organization is facing and directs your problem solution (e.g., “How can [company name] increase their organizational attractiveness for female talent?”). Second, you then develop a 2-page solution using evidence (e.g., scientific articles) focusing on ONE specific HRM practice.
The assignment is 4 pages long (excluding title page/reference list/tables and graphs in appendix) using 12 pt Times New Roman, double-spaced.
