STEP 1:
Describe the issue that you have chosen. First, explain the issue, provide some context and background, as well as provide some potential examples of the issue in the real-world. Do research and use credible and timely sources (moving outside the textbook) to back up your argument that this issue is a problem and deserves our attention.
Create a proposal for a realistic and actionable way to engage the issue. Provide details on how the action would (or could) be accomplished. How would this idea by accomplished? Be as specific as possible, and go step by step. I strongly encourage your group to ground the rationale for the potential solution in a course theory or concept. In other words, if there is a strategy or theory available to help justify the type of action you propose, explain that as well.Describe the issue that you have chosen. STEP 2:
Now that we’ve covered both gender in the contexts of education and work, I’d like you to reflect on your own experiences in each of those areas.
First, given what we’ve read in Chapter 8 on education, think back to aspects of a hidden/gendered curriculum at your school. Provide examples from your own experience. For example, Dr. Goehring talked about how he learned little about the long struggle of LGBTQ+ activists in his history classes.
Second, I assume you have all worked in some capacity. Think about some of the gendered issues you have encountered in the workplace. For instance, in the lecture, Dr. Goehring discussed several female students explaining what it’s like working in a restaurant.
Please write 1 paragraph for each (2 paragraphs total).
