Your assignment is to use your notes and additional research to complete the following creative writing assignment. You are a rowdy colonist in Boston. The year is 1775 and you are attempting to get your fellow men (and women) riled up for the first Battle in the Revolutionary War. Discuss the events that led to the Revolutionary War and discuss why you feel that the time has finally come to declare your independence from Great Britain.
I will be looking for key terms, specific evidence and emotion in your response. Make sure that you do not leave out any key events or I’ll be more than likely to return to the bar, rather than pick up my musket and fight for you.
You may write this assignment as a formal essay or a creative dialogue. Regardless of style, make sure that you reinforce your ideas with specifics (including citation) from multiple sources (see the rubric for more detail).
