This is an essay for a diploma in integrative counselling, this course has a defined theoretical perspectives based on 3 main counselling perspectives, Psychodynamic, Humanistic ( which includes person centred ) and cognitive behavioural therapy. This essay is about my feelings towards that specific scenario. How would I be able to help a client in such a situation, it’s important not to over generalise, it’s this specific scenario. One of the references needs to be from the BACP ethical guidelines. I’m reading Sitting in the fire by Arnold Mindell, Psychology beyond western perspectives by Kramer Owusu-Bempah and Dennis Howitt. I do not hold any prejudice against gypsies, but where am from there’s some racism towards gypsies because they have money but don’t declar it, and take money from the government to live, prompting people to have this opinion about gypsies that they not trust worthy people because of this.
