In recent times, COVID-19 has changed the way businesses operate; in particular, the adoption of remote
working by organisations. You are required to write a research paper, in your own words, on the technical
implications of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) as an emerging solution for the Department of Computing for a ‘pilot’ remote 25-seater lab scenario.
The paper should explain the problem area and critically evaluate the key issues, main challenges, best practices
and technical architecture from two potential vendor solutions, supported by appropriate case studies. In
addition, an alternative potential technological solution to VDI should be discussed.
