Purpose: Demonstrate the ability to perform scholarly research related to various cultures.
Goal: Broaden the knowledge base related to the historical sport and physical activity practices influencing the United States physical education and leisure programs.
Procedure: Students will choose a country from the list provided in module 2 and, upon approval of the instructor, prepare a research presentation. The presentation should provide HEADINGS for each section of the presentation for the following topics:
Sports and Physical Activity Practices throughout History (Chronological) – 20 points
Influencing Factors (Factors that influenced the nature and rules of the sports) – 15 points
Significant Historical Events (Historical events of interest that are non-sport related) – 15 points
Influence (The influence/impact the country has or has had on United States physical education, leisure, and sport programs) – 20 points
Timeline (In addition to the presentation, you will need to create a timeline of 15 events for the country. At least 5 of these events must be sport related and show where and when they originated and at what point that event had an impact on the US). – 15 points
Conclusion (Summarize/Conclude with information learned from the compilation of this paper) – 5points
Follow APA guidelines – 10 points
