This essay asks you to consider and critique the evidence that suggests specific environmental and individual factors contribute to the development of a secure attachment style. You should begin your essay with a strong introduction, defining any key terms (i.e., defining and describing what constitutes a secure attachment style) and outlining how you will answer the question. (Approx. 200-250 words). The main body of your essay should focus on the process with which secure attachment develops, drawing from one of the key theories of attachment, and a critique of the research evidence that supports or challenges the assertion that specific environmental and individual factors contribute to secure attachment formation (Approx. 1000-1100 words). You should wrap up your answer with a strong conclusion that summarises and/or reinforces some of the key points made in your answer, referring to the question. (Approx. 200-250 words). Remember to include both in-text references as well as have a ‘Reference’ section at the end which includes the full references of all the sources you cited in the essay.
