Choose on of the following myths and learn / understand what occurred in it. (You may read the Greek or Roman version). Some myths are hard to find concise versions of, so you may need to read several sources or watch videos to understand.
Myths to choose from:
Icarus
The abduction of Persophone
Prometheus and his gift of fire
Narcissus and Echo
After you have familiarized yourself with your myth, create your own modern retelling of the myth.
The names of the gods and godesses should remain the same
The central problem should remain the same
The central lesson should remain the same
You should:
Tell the myth as if it was set today
Modernize the characters, the problems, and the lessons (though they should still teach the same thing).
Be creative!
Your modern myth should be 2-3 pages in length (Double spaced)
