Open a new document, format it with 1” margins, 12 pt font, and double-spacing, and enter your first and last name at the top. Save the document as [Last Name] PS Topic Approval.
In the body of the document, write one proposal for each topic, for a total of two proposals. The writing need not be overly formal or polished, but it must be clear, specific, well-informed, and entirely in your own words.
Number your first preference 1 and include it first, followed by your second choice, numbered 2.
Each proposal should be ~4-6 sentences in length, and must integrate the following:
a brief but clear and
specific description of the issue (1-2 sentences);
a condensed overview of the scope of the debate/range
of opinion as you understand it so far; you may wish to use a TSIS template, e.g., “While some argue over whether ___ or ___, others debate ____.” (2-3 sentences); and
a brief statement of your reasoning for selecting the topic, that is, why it matters/is meaningful to you. (1-2 sentences)
